Alan joined Southern Wine & Spirits in 2006 as the Director of Training & Recruitment for the Coastal Wine & Spirits of Florida division. As a visionary professional with a high energy level, and recipient of the company’s first “Vision Award,” Alan’s success has been in driving product knowledge, selling skills, team pride, and creating a culture that values building capabilities and recognition.
In his current role as National Director of Talent Management, Alan’s oversight includes guiding a talent review process that evaluates leaders on performance and potential, conducting talent gap analysis against strategic business needs, and implementing initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and performance.
Prior to joining Southern Wine & Spirits, Alan worked 20 years in the restaurant field as Director of Corporate operations for a medium sized national restaurant chain based in Wisconsin. Following his relocation to Florida in 2001, he managed Miami’s premier 5-diamond restaurant, Azul, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
Alan is a certified instructor of adult learning techniques and a graduate of Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. He currently resides in Miami with his partner, Daniel, and works out of the Miramar, FL office.
