Environmental Health and Safety With New Chain Team Appointment
Mickey Horton Named as National Director, Environmental Health and Safety
Miami, Florida, October 1, 2012 – Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern), the country’s leading wine and spirits distributor, today announced the appointment of Mickey Horton to the company’s Supply Chain Strategy Team as its National Director, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). The appointment is effective immediately.
Commenting on how this appointment will strengthen Southern’s operations, Bobby Burg, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Strategy, said, “As we continue to grow and expand our national operations capabilities, we have long had a commitment to enhancing our environmental health and safety standards. On behalf of all our team members, I want to welcome Mickey to Southern.”
Before joining Southern, Horton spent eight years as Director, EHS and Risk Management for Terminix, a ServiceMaster Company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to his environmental health and safety responsibilities at Terminix, Horton was also instrumental in corporate-wide environmental health and safety education and training efforts. Prior to this, Horton served as the Environmental Safety and Ergonomics Manager at Nortel Networks; Division Manager, Safety and Risk Management at American Medical Response; and the Eastern regional Safety Specialist for MCI Communications.
