Southern Wine & Spirits of America Inc. Moves Quickly to Fill Executive Ranks in New York Market

Larry Goodrich Named Executive Vice President & General Manager of New York State Division

MIAMI - October 14, 2004 - Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., the nation's No. 1-ranked wine and spirits distributor with operations in 12 states, has moved rapidly in finalizing its search for its leader in New York by today announcing that Mr. Larry Goodrich, a 27-year veteran of Southern Wine & Spirits, has been appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of New York. (On October 7, 2004, Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. announced it had acquired 100 percent of the assets of Premier Wine & Spirits of New York and their western New York state distribution arm, Letchworth Wine & Spirits, which positions Southern Wine & Spirits of New York from its inception to develop capabilities for statewide presence and coverage.)

During Mr. Goodrich's career with Southern, he has served in various senior sales and management level positions all sharing increased responsibility and importance to the Company's overall organization. Mr. Goodrich's career began as an on-premise sales representative in 1977, which led to subsequent promotions including up to Assistant to the President of the Wine Division as well as Vice President/General Manager of the Company's Orlando/Jacksonville trading areas in 1989. Mr. Goodrich has most recently served as Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida's Central Division Vice President and General Manager, the largest of Florida's three operating divisions covering a territory that encompasses the entire Central portion of the state including Orlando and Tampa and extending down through the growing Southwestern portion of the state of Florida.   In fulfilling his current responsibilities, Mr. Goodrich managed a sales and administrative force totaling approximately 825 people that serviced nearly 15,000 on- and off-premise accounts from Southern's combined 500,000 square foot Central Division Headquartered in Tampa, Florida.

Wayne E. Mr. Chaplin added, "We will now begin a search to fill the void that Larry will leave in Florida though feel confident knowing the strength of our bench, look forward to announcing his successor immediately following the first of the year.  Until then, Mr. Stephen Power, Executive Vice President - General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida will spend an increased amount of time in the Tampa & Orlando marketplace and oversee its experienced management team."

According to Mr. Chaplin, Mr. Goodrich will relocate to New York by December 1st with his wife Elaine of 21 years.  His two children both are currently attending college in Florida.

Additionally, Southern Wine & Spirits of America also announces the appointment of Mr. J. Michael Wooters as its Vice President - Business and Legal Affairs for Southern Wine & Spirits of New York.  Mr. Wooters brings with him not only his professional training and development but also years of experience in our industry both on the supplier and wholesale levels.  Mr. Wooters was formally the Managing Director of Paramount/Eber Bros. of New York.
