MIAMI - April 25, 2005: Effective May 1, 2005, in a senior appointment designed to strengthen its operation in New Mexico, Mr. Wayne E. Chaplin, President and Chief Operating Officer of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., the country’s largest wine and spirits distributor with operations in 12 states, and pending in seven more, announced the appointment of Mr. Greg Templeton as Vice President, General Sales Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of New Mexico. According to Mr. Chaplin, this announcement follows the untimely passing last month of Mr. Michael Chiordi, New Mexico’s former Executive Vice President, Managing Director. Mr. Chaplin added, “Mike not only served with professional distinction, but was also a widely respected individual within our organization, by our suppliers and throughout the community in which he resided.”
Mr. Chaplin stated that Mr. Templeton, who previously served as General Sales Manager, Off-Premise of Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona, assumes his new position immediately. Mr. Chaplin said, “In looking at New Mexico, we see that Greg’s more than two decade’s experience in the beverage market make him the ideal candidate to move our business forward for both our supplier partners and our customers. We are confident that Greg will continue to work closely under the leadership of Michael Jahn, Executive Vice President, General Manager of both Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona and New Mexico.”

Mr. Jahn said, “Greg’s 22 years of experience in the beverage industry – progressing from entry-level sales, on premise development, to Off-Sale General Manager at Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona – have given him the diverse knowledge and passion for all aspects of the wholesale wine and spirits business. His dedication to Southern Wine and Spirits customers is reflected in his longstanding commitment and concern for their business interests. His experience, customer relationship development skills and personal motivation will serve him well in better serving the needs of ourcustomers, their customers and our valued suppliers in New Mexico.”

Prior to joining Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona in 1992, Mr. Templeton worked for a beer distributor in Iowa where he supervised its on and off premise sales force. After moving to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1986, where he joined Vintage Selections a fine wine distributor, he served in the operation’s chain sales and merchandising division.
According to Mr. Jahn, when in 1992, Southern Wine and Spirits of America, Inc., purchased Vintage Selections, Mr. Templeton continued with these same sales responsibilities at the then newly formed Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona. In 1994, the Company promoted him to Independent Retail Manager and had Account Executive responsibilities for Costco and Sam’s Club. He also conducted on premise staff trainings and wine list presentations, until Mr. Templeton’s promotion to Assistant Off-Sale General Manager in 1998. Then, in 2001, the Company promoted Mr. Templeton to Off-Sale General Manager, where he has worked until his most recent appointment.
