Southern Wine & Spirits of America Strengthens National Coordination with Pernod Ricard USA
BJ Vorderer Named Vice President, Sales & Marketing-Pernod Ricard Portfolio

February 7, 2013 - Miami, Florida: Kevin Fennessey, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., (Southern)—the country’s leading wine and spirits distributor—announced today the appointment of BJ Vorderer as Vice President, Sales & Marketing-Pernod Ricard Portfolio. According to Fennessey, the move underscores Southern’s ongoing efforts to closely align and coordinate its marketing and sales strategies with a key supplier like Pernod Ricard across aligned Southern markets and sales channels. The appointment was effective February 1, 2013, and Vorderer will report to Fennessey.

Commenting on this important appointment, Fennessey said, “BJ will directly oversee and manage our overall relationship with Pernod Ricard. He will coordinate Southern’s marketing and sales strategies across the 29 states where we are aligned with Pernod Ricard, and—with his experience and record of professional achievement at Pernod Ricard, Shaw-Ross and Southern’s Illinois division—we are confident that BJ will continue to grow the entire Pernod Ricard portfolio in the future.”

Vorderer is taking over this role from Southern’s Marty Durkin who was recently promoted to Vice President, Marketing & Sales Planning for Southern’s Florida division. Vorderer served in many roles of escalating responsibility at Pernod Ricard, including State Manage-Illinois, Director of Off-Premise-ABSOLUT, and—most recently—as Director of Off-Premise National Trade Marketing. In 2003, he first joined Southern as Area Sales Manager at Southern Wine & Spirits of Illinois. Vorderer has a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University of Chicago.
