Marriott International Honors Michael Wanamaker, Vice President, Hotels and Resorts of Southern Wine & Spirits of America with 2013 Global Innovation Award
June 25, 2013, Miami, FL — Brad Vassar, Executive Vice President, General Manager, Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern)—the country’s leading wine and spirits distributor—announced today that Marriott International, one of the world’s leading hotel groups, has honored Michael Wanamaker, Southern’s Vice President, Hotels and Resorts, with its 2013 Global Innovation Award. Attended by more than 100 food and beverage industry leaders, Marriott International held the annual award ceremony at its yearly Global Beverage conference in Orlando at the Gaylord Hotel in May.

Vassar said, “On behalf of Southern and our entire National Accounts Team, we congratulate Michael on this great honor. It is one more instance of the focus, dedication and execution that our National Account team and our local people in the field bring to our hospitality customers across all of our markets of operation. The Marriott Food and Beverage Team—headed up by Wolfgang Lindlbauer, Senior Vice President, Food and Beverage, Lou Trope Vice President, Restaurants and Bars, and Dan Hoffman, Director, Equipment and Beverage Specifications—presented the 2013 Global Innovation Award to Wanamaker in recognition of Southern Wine & Spirits of America for its outstanding contributions to global beverage development.
