Las Vegas, Nevada – March 24, 2014 – Larry Ruvo, Senior Managing Director of Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada (SWS-NV)—a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern), the nation’s leading wine and spirits distributor with operations in 35 states—announced today the appointment of Ian Staller as Executive Vice President, General Manager of SWS-NV. Staller’s appointment is effective immediately, and he will report directly to Ruvo.

Over the last 10 years with Southern in the State of Nevada, Ian quickly earned the respect of our employees, suppliers and customers. No matter what project Ian was given, he always met the goal—going above and beyond for our customers and his team members. His leadership skills have given him this well-deserved and well-earned promotion to General Manager.”
Ian has more than 20 years of sales, marketing and operations experience within the wine, spirits and hospitality industries. Commenting on his appointment, Staller said, “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to take on the General Manager role in Nevada. I spent the last 10 years in the market working alongside Larry Ruvo and many other great Southern leaders and mentors preparing me for this role.”
Southern’s Executive Vice President, General Manager Brad Vassar added, “Ian first joined Southern in 2001 in our Miami office as an Internal Auditor. Within two years, he joined the Southern Wine & Spirits Nevada team as the State Controller & Director of Operations. It is great to see someone who spent much of his career in the Finance and Operations side of our business be appointed as General Manager. We feel this experience, along with his time in Sales, gives Ian the right skills to be successful in his new role.”
Congratulating Staller on his new role, Wayne Chaplin, President & Chief Operating Officer of Southern, concluded, “I am extremely pleased for Ian. On behalf of Southern leadership, we would like to congratulate Ian on his promotion. In addition to his Nevada colleagues and on behalf of the entire company, we look forward to seeing Ian grow in this role and continue to spread Southern’s trademark entrepreneurial spirit across his team in the Nevada division.”
With this appointment, Ian will continue to live in Las Vegas where he has been for the past ten years—during which time he met and married his wife, Dr. Traci Grossman. Ian and Traci have a six-year-old daughter, Mia.
