Gary Gruver has been in the restaurant and bar industry for 15 years. Most notably, he opened the Martini Italian Bistro. Gary’s mentor is Jim Davis. Gary’s expertise is creating seasonal cocktail menus, designing craft cocktails and he has a vast understanding of classic cocktails. His professional philosophy is keeping cocktails fresh and easy to execute.

Gary is an award winning Mixologist. His awards include GQ's "Most Popular Bartender In The Nation" , "Americas Choice" and he is the champion for Bombay Sapphire’s regional competition for Kentucky.

In 2011 Gary was one of the founding members of the USBG KY and is currently the Vice President of the chapter.

He has been featured In in GQ Magazine, the cover of the Tasting Panel, and Television Programs that include WHAS Great Day live, WDRB, Wave 3 Listens, Courier-Journal, Insider Louisville, and The Voice-Tribune.

With inspiration from the bourbon trail located in his home town, Gary enjoys creating cocktails using new innovative techniques while keeping the ingredients minimal allowing for the spirit to come to life.

WHY NOT TRY A BEEFEATER 24 SILVER FIZZ WITH A BIT OF GRAPEFRUIT BITTERS!

BEEFEATER 24 SILVER FIZZ by Gary Gruver

  • 2 oz beefeater 24
  • 1oz fresh lemon juice
  • .75oz simple syrup
  • 1 egg white (organic)
  • soda to fill
  • 4-5 drops Grapefruit bitters on top of foam

Method: Build in glass, add all indgreidents except ice, soda, and bitters.
Dry shake, and then add ice, shake and strain over fresh ice top with soda and bitters.

  • 2oz (100 proof or above) Bourbon
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 2 strawberrys
  • 4-5 basil leaf
  • 3 dashes of whiskey barrel bitters

Method: Build in glass, place sugar cubed doused in bitters.
Muddle strawberry and basil, add bourbon and ice, stir untill well chilled and double strain on large ice.
