Sky Ranch Foundation Names Harvey R. Chaplin to Its Hall of Fame
The Sky Ranch Foundation, a 3,000-acre non-profit facility on the South Dakota/Montana border that provides support for troubled teens, announced that Harvey R. Chaplin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., Miami, Florida, the country’s largest wine and spirits distributor with operations in 12 states, and pending acquisitions in 7 more, is be inducted into the group’s 2005 Hall of Fame membership honor roll.
Since 1961, wine, spirits and beer companies, members and friends of the beverage alcohol industry have lent generous support to Sky Ranch. Overall, from its inception, more than $15 million has been raised to support this worthy cause, including donations from Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. over the years.
Mr. Chaplin, along with other honorees, will be inducted in the Sky Ranch Hall of Fame during the annual Sky Ranch leadership conference of the World Association of the Alcohol Beverage Industries, a non-profit group supporting the moderate, responsible use beverage alcohol.
Mr. Chaplin said, “I am deeply honored to be a member of the Sky Ranch Hall of Fame. More importantly, our company is a longtime supporter of this facility and the help Sky Ranch provides to troubled teens from all around the county. We intend to continue to support this worthy institution.”
