Southern Wine & Spirits Announces Appointment of Kirt Clemens as Senior Vice-President of North American Spirits & Wine’s Eastern Division
Appointment Complements North American Spirits & Wine Leadership Team


August 3, 2011, Miami, Florida - Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern), the nation’s largest wine and spirits distributor with operations in 35 states, today announced the appointment of Kirt Clemens to Senior Vice President- Eastern Region, North American Spirits & Wine Brokerage division (NASW).

According to Robert Swartz, Executive Vice President and General Manager of NASW, “Kirt brings 23 years of beverage industry experience to his new position, specializing in supplier operations and strategic planning. Prior to joining Southern, he worked with Diageo throughout Florida where he built strategic alliances with major off-premise accounts. Most recently, Clemens worked for Southern’s Mid-Atlantic Division in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he served as Vice President-General Sales Manager for the past five years.” In this role, Clemens directed development of the regional strategy for market coverage re-organization and contributed to the overall success of the Mid-Atlantic Division’s sales.

Clemens role will report to Bob Swartz and was effective August 1, 2011. A search is underway for Clemens successor in North Carolina.
