I. Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona: Association of Arizona Food Banks
Michael Jahn, Executive Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona and New Mexico, divisions of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., said, “In our continuing effort to support local charitable causes, Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona put its best foot forward in giving back to the community. Proceeds from our 15th Annual Product Show and Tasting were donated to the Association of Arizona Food Banks, which is just one of scores of Arizona-based charities and local causes we support.”
Mr. Jahn added, “We are active supporters of a wide range of socially responsible programs and charitable efforts in Arizona. I am especially proud of the individual and collective work and donations of our employees here in Arizona, all of whom make a difference in the communities in which they live.”
The mission of the Association of Arizona Foodbanks (AAFB), a nonprofit organization with six member food banks, is to deliver services to food banks and foster relationships in support of the group’s commitment to eliminate hunger. According to AAFB, the Association brings mostly donated food in and beyond Arizona to statewide food banks – 59.1 million Pounds last year – the equivalent of 45.5 million meals. II. Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona: Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center
In looking over the variety of health-related and community-based charitable activities that Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona supports each year, the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) is another beneficiary of proceeds from Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona’s 15th Annual Product Show and Tasting, according to Michael Jahn, Executive Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona and New Mexico, divisions of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc.
According to the group, the SARRC, founded in 1997, is a community-based organization dedicated to autism research for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and their families. In 2006 alone, SARRC provided more than 120,000 service hours to children, family members, professionals and para-professionals, and consistently ranks among the leaders in recruitment and enrollment of subjects for autism studies.
