Lindemans

The perfect brew for New Year’s

Merchant du Vin introduced Lindemans to the United States in 1979. To this day, it is the bestselling brand in the lambic category, which includes dry, aperitif-like beers, full-bodied dinner beers and fruity dessert beers. Colorful and featuring a thick, foamy head, Lindemans fruit-flavored beers make delightful additions to any holiday celebration.

The blending process for making lambics – i.e., spontaneously fermented beers – is similar to the méthode champenoise, which produces sparkling wine.  Lindemans Farm Brewery blends the lambic and fresh fruit to make cassis (black currant), framboise (raspberry), and pêche (peach) beers. When the brewery makes kriek, whole cherries are added to the casks, triggering a third fermentation that gives the finished beverage an effervescent, Champagne-like quality. Coming soon: the newest addition to the Lindemans line – Pomme, with the fresh flavor of real apples.
