About the term Calvados
From the Latin expression “Calva-Dorsa” that represents some parts of the Normandian coasts visible from the sea.
Production process
After being harvested, the typical tiny and juicy apples are pressed to make juice that naturally ferments to become cider. The cider is then distilled (once or twice, depending upon the appellation). Then the Calvados carefully ages in French oak casks for years.
