Karlsson’s Gold Vodka: Crafted from seven potato varieties, lightly distilled and unfiltered

Karlsson’s Gold Vodka is the latest innovation from the people who brought about Absolut. Crafted using 100 percent virgin new potatoes from Cape Bjäre, Sweden. Meticulously distilled only once and unfiltered for a unique, exquisite flavor characterized by earthly crispness, in sharp relief against a crowded field of heavily-distilled clear spirits. Karlsson’s Gold Vodka is a meritage vodka as it is a blend of seven different varietals of virgin new potatoes which are individually distilled and then blended. All varieties of potatoes come from one domaine in the Southwest of Sweden, Cape Bjäre and are therefore subject to the same elements of terroir. It is also a small-batch, vintage product as each potato vodka changes from year to year and the master blender must change the recipe slightly to accommodate and create a consistent flavor. Each bottle is laser-engraved to account for this.

Recipe:
Chaya Basil Cucumber Gimlet
2 oz Karlsson’s Gold Vodka
Fresh lime juice
Simple syrup
3 basil leaves
3 slices cucumbers
Muddle together, shake and strain.
