Newly-Configured North Division to Enhance Statewide Selling Excellence and Operational Efficiency for Customers and Suppliers Alike
Barry Zeidwig Named Vice President, General Manager of Newly Created North Division
Richard Booth, Vice President, General Manager to Head Company’s South Division
MIAMI--Steve Power, Executive Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida, a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. the nation’s leading wine and spirits distributor, today announced the reorganization of its current three statewide operations into two geographic and organizational divisions: North and South.
Effective June 1, 2010, the newly created North Division is to encompass the Florida operation’s former Central and existing North Florida divisions, and will be headed by Barry Zeidwig, with his new title as Vice President, General Manager, Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida, North Division. Power noted that Richard Booth, Vice President, General Manager, remains in charge of the Company’s existing Southern Division.
According to Power, these statewide organizational and geographic changes come in the wake of the Company’s May 25, 2010 announcement of the appointment of Gene Sullivan as Vice President, General Manager of Coastal Wine & Spirits of Florida.
Wayne E. Chaplin, President and Chief Operating Officer of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., said, “Consistent with our more streamlined structure in other large markets such as California and New York, we are confident this geographic adjustment in Florida will enhance our work on behalf of our Supplier Partners as well as our chain and independent retailers and restaurateurs.”
