Southern Wine & Spirits of South Florida (SWS of South Florida)—a division of America’s leading wholesaler, Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern)—is proud to announce the results of the 2nd Annual VolunCheers “Bags of Hope Campaign”. This year, Southern’s largest back-to-school drive is gearing up to equip more than 1,200 deserving South Florida children to start the school year well equipped.
Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, John Wittig said, “I am impressed and overwhelmed by the passion and effort that our South Florida team members applied towards the Bags of Hope Campaign. Raising in excess of $35,000 for South Florida children in need has been a terrific community experience for our VolunCheers team.” Wittig continued, “SWS of South Florida VolunCheers also partnered with Walgreens—and the retailer generously helped to maximize purchase quantities while also donating additional school supplies to the Campaign.”
On Saturday, August 10th, at 10 a.m., the SWS VolunCheers, will assemble the 1,200 backpacks at the Bags of Hope event—hosted at Southern’s Corporate Office located at 1535 NW 159 Street, Miami, FL 33169. Members of the media are invited to attend. The event will include John Wittig and Patrick Cassidy, Vice-President, General Sales Manager, SWS of South Florida—along with many other Southern employees and their families.
Employees nominated the schools to receive the donations which will be delivered as follows:
• Miami-Dade County – Miami Lakes Educational Center: August 12, 2013
• Broward County – Peters Elementary: August 13, 2013
• Palm Beach County – Glade View Elementary School: August 14, 2013
• Monroe County – Horace O’ Bryant Middle School: August 16, 2013
