|Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida Proudly Announces the Establishment and Opening of “O Bar”|
Cocktail Creation, Training and Educational Academy Led by Master Mixologist Armando Rosario
August 27, 2013—Jacksonville, Florida: Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern), the nation’s largest wine and spirits distributor with operations in 35 states, announced today the August 1, 2013 opening of its new Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida “O Bar” cocktails mixology academy, located in the company’s Orlando offices. According to Barry Zeidwig, Executive Vice President, General Manager of the Southern Wine & Spirits of North Florida division (SWS-North Florida), SWS-North Florida Master Mixologist Armando Rosario—who has earned numerous prestigious drinks certifications and professional awards—has been named the new academy’s Director. Rosario will oversee and participate in a year-round program of cocktail creation, training and educational activities at the new center.
Steve Power, Executive Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida, said, “We in the Southern Wine & Spirits Florida Division are excited to join our sister divisions in Nevada and Illinois in providing a leading-edge facility for cocktails training and education.”
According to Herman Fernandez, Jr., Vice President, National Accounts of Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida, “The new Orlando O Bar drink development and educational center joins the company’s two other such training and educational facilities—with Armando joining us here in Florida from our Las Vegas operation.”
Zeidwig added, “The O Bar, will be home to cocktail recipe innovation, drink list development and Southern’s bartending academy in North Florida. We are excited and proud to have Armando join us as the O Bar’s new director. He brings a wealth of experience, creativity and passion to his work. Working with Herman, Armando will initiate outreach efforts to like-minded professionals among our national accounts customers that we are proud to serve, educate and partner with in their drinks programs.”
