I.  Southern Wine & Spirits of New England –Vermont and the Vermont Achievement Center, Rutland Vermont

The Vermont Achievement Center (VAC) is a charitable organization that has been serving children and families in the Rutland Vermont area since 1937.  The VAC offers innovative and responsive programs in special education, child care, family social services and intervention and much more.

Southern Wine & Spirits of New England has been a supporting sponsor of the VAC for the past ten years, including the group’s annual Scottish Ball and various events throughout the year.

According to Mr. LaRocca, “We have been the first and only “Presenting Sponsor” for the annual golf outing fundraiser for the last three years. We are very proud of the support that we provide to the people of Vermont through this wonderful organization.”

II.  Southern Wine & Spirits of New England – Vermont and Other Charitable Activities

According to Joe LaRocca, Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of New England, the Company also lends its support to the following Vermont-based non-profit organizations:

In Rutland, Vermont, The Open Door Mission, the Veteran’s Shelter, and Soup Kitchen for Area Homeless, as well as participation in major sponsorships through golf tournaments, platinum sponsorships, and donations to fundraising events. According to these groups, 87% of those served through this mission are homeless veterans.

The State Lions Club, Elks, American Legions and Moose Lodge associations via donations of money and wine and spirits for fundraising events.
