I. Southern Wine & Spirits of New Jersey, Lauber Imports and the Susan G. Komen Foundation
Southern Wine & Spirits of New Jersey, a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., is a generous contributor to a number of different causes and charities, according to Mark Lauber, President of Lauber Imports, a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of New Jersey.
In 2007, as in previous years, Lauber Imports participates in the Annual Lee National Denim Day, an event that raises money and awareness for Breast Cancer. For a minimum donation of $5, employees may wear blue jeans and other denim clothing to work for a day.
II. Southern Wine & Spirits of New Jersey, Lauber Imports and Cancer Care, Inc.
Southern Wine & Spirits of New Jersey lends support to many local social service- medical- and community-based charitable activities across New Jersey, but one of the most gratifying to Mark Lauber, President of Lauber Imports, a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of New Jersey, is the Cancer Care, Inc. group.
According to Mr. Lauber, each year both Lauber and Southern Wine & Spirits of New Jersey employees support Cancer Care via a number of different programs during the years, including:
Halloween Candy Corn Count Fundraiser: For $1 per guess, employees try to guess how many pieces of Candy Corn are in the jar. The winner receives half of the dollars contributed, with Cancer Care receiving the other half.
Fuzzy Slipper Day: For a minimum contribution, office employees ‘pay’ for the privilege of wearing their Slippers to work for a day. All proceeds are donated to Cancer Care, Inc.
Cupcakes for a Cause: Lauber Imports participates in this annual fundraiser coordinated by Cancer Care. Cupcakes specially baked and decorated for the event are purchased from a local participating bakery. Employees all receive a cupcake and in turn are asked for a ‘free will donation’ to Cancer Care Inc.
Lauber Imports Employee Annual Christmas Gift to Cancer Care: In lieu of employee gifts to Mark and Ed Lauber, employees pool their donations and make a sizable gift to Cancer Care Inc. in honor of Ed and Mark Lauber.
III. Southern Wine & Spirits of New Jersey, Lauber Imports and Local Charities
According to Mark Lauber, Southern Wine & Spirits of New Jersey and Lauber Imports also support many local organizations through periodic contributions for their fundraising events, including:
Revlon Walk for Life:
Every year, a group of employees participates in the New York City Revlon Walk for Life, to raise money and awareness for women’s cancers.
Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity (RVHFH)
For the past 5 years, Lauber Imports has been a supporter of our local Habitat for Humanity chapter, providing a donation of wine to RVHFH’s annual dinner/auction fundraising event.
In addition, Lauber Imports also supports a variety of other charities including many local Police Benevolent Associations and Fire Departments throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
