Since its establishment in
2000, Southern Wine & Spirits of New Mexico has taken an active role in corporate sponsorship, community involvement and educational
excellence, according to Michael Jahn, Executive Vice President, General
Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona and New Mexico, which is a
division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., the country’s leading
wine and spirits distributor with a tradition of service since 1968.
In 2010, the
Company continued its support of the Children’s Fund of New Mexico. Mr. Jahn
noted that this non-profit, charitable group was selected by its parent,
Southern Wine & Spirits of America in 2008, as one of 40 well deserving recipients
to receive a charitable contribution from the Southern Foundation as part of
Southern’s “40 for 40” Campaign during 2008. This Campaign was established to
honor Southern’s 40 years of success by giving back to the local market
communities that have been so supportive of Southern’s business.
The Children's
Cancer Fund of New Mexico is a charitable organization founded to help
children and their families cope with the day-to-day emotional, financial and
educational needs of battling and living with cancer. The Southern Wine &
Spirits Foundation’s donation will be applied to scholarships for New Mexico
students who have undergone treatment for childhood cancer and wish to continue
their education beyond high school.
