Since its establishment in 2000, Southern Wine & Spirits of New Mexico, headquartered in Albuquerque, has taken an active role in ensuring the viability and health of their community through this and other initiatives.
Corporate sponsorship, community involvement and educational excellence are all important charitable concerns at Southern Wine & Spirits of New Mexico, according to Michael Jahn, Executive Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of Arizona and New Mexico, which is a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., the country’s leading wine and spirits distributor with a tradition of service since 1968.
The Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico: In December 2008, Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., Miami, Florida, on behalf of its operating division, Southern Wine & Spirits of New Mexico, announced today that it has selected the Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico as one of 40 well deserving recipients to receive a charitable contribution from the Southern Foundation as part of Southern’s “40 for 40” Campaign during 2008. This Campaign was established to honor Southern’s 40 years of success by giving back to the local market communities that have been so supportive of Southern’s business.
The Children's Cancer Fund of New Mexico is a charitable organization founded to help children and their families cope with the day-to-day emotional, financial and educational needs of battling and living with cancer. The Southern Wine & Spirits Foundation’s donation will be applied to scholarships for New Mexico students who have undergone treatment for childhood cancer and wish to continue their education beyond high school.
During 2009, Southern Wine & Spirits of New Mexico continues to support many other local, community-based charitable and educational programs, according to Mr. Jahn.
