Corporate sponsorship, community involvement and educational excellence are all important charitable concerns at Southern Wine & Spirits, Brokerage of Utah division, according to John Klein, Executive Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of America’s seven Pacific Northwest markets— Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming and Washington.
I. Southern Wine & Spirits, Brokerage of Utah and the Great Salt Lake Chili Affair
The Annual Great Salt Lake Chili Affair is the primary fund raising event for the Salt Lake Community Shelter and Self Sufficiency Center. The Road Home receives the majority of its yearly revenue from private donors who contributed approximately $2.5 million last year.
The event features local restaurants and chefs who donate chili, breads, salads and desserts. Beverage booth options include fantastic margaritas, local microbrews and wine. Live music, dancing, and a silent auction are just a few of the activities you can look forward to, according to Kincade Bauer, State Manager Utah, Southern Wine & Spirits, Brokerage of Utah.
Mr. Klein said, “We are proud to be one of the sponsors of this annual event, which supports a number of worthy groups.”
II. Southern Wine & Spirits, Brokerage of Utah and Utah’s Hogle Zoo
In cooperation with American Express, Southern Wine & Spirits, Brokerage of Utah division is an active supporter of the American Express Zoo Rendezvous, which the Hogle Zoo’s largest fundraiser, according to Mr. Klein.
On Zoo Rendezvous night, the entire Zoo is transformed, with “Zoo-rific” cuisine and spirits, live entertainment and a silent auction, among other benefit events. All proceeds from Zoo Rendezvous are dedicated to animal care, exhibitions, and capital improvements.
